Fork Operator & Loader

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual who is takes pride in owning the overall condition and placement of products in the yard. We are looking for excellence, not ordinary.

• Receives all product arriving at the yard. Organizes and distributes all product onto the site. Experienced in determining lot lay-out and product information quickly.
• Pulls production from yard stock and loads on to customer trucks and/or trailers. Generates new business with in person, face-to-face sales calls. 5% of the role.
• Inspects transfers of product (in-bound product into the yard) for damage caused during the transportation process.
• Partners with Logistics to reconcile any discrepancies.
• Ensures that all personal entering the yard is complaint with safety rules and standards (e.g. all truck drivers must be wearing P.P.E and use of load securement, etc.)
• On a daily basis, collaborates with sales on out-going orders.
• Maintains the overall condition of the yard.
• During slower periods, will be required to assist other departments such as production, sales and with minor maintenance projects.

• Must have health BMI. Physical demands include: walking, climbing, standing and lifting (physically strenuous); must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Champion of safety practices and a contributor to the overall Safety culture at Mayfair.
• Prefer 3 to 5 years of experience operating all-terrain forklifts with loading and unloading experience. Prefer lumber wholesale and distribution experience with loading trucks last load on/first load off (e.g. b-trains) is considered an asset.
• Operate equipment in a variety of weather conditions throughout the year.
• Friendly, outgoing, energetic, well-spoken and comfortable working with customers and Mayfair employees.
• Willingness to complete a variety of work assignments as Mayfair continues to expand their operations.
• Clean criminal background check. Must be “fit for work” at all times.
