The Southern Alberta Art Gallery Maansiksikaaitsitapiitsinikssin is excited to announce our 2026 Casino Fundraiser, happening at PURE Casino Lethbridge (3756 2 Ave S, Lethbridge, AB T1J 4Y9) on Tuesday, January 13 and Wednesday, January 14 2026!
Casinos are an easy, fun way to get involved with the Gallery and help raise much-needed dollars for our organization. Enjoy a delicious meal on us from the casino restaurant during your shift, and meet other community-minded individuals and art lovers. We truly wouldn’t be able to do this fundraiser without our dedicated and passionate volunteers, and we are so grateful for your support!
There are nine volunteer shifts available per day, each shift raising well over $1000 for the Gallery! You must be available for the full duration of your shift, and you are allowed to volunteer over both days. Night owls take note, there’s a late night shift that’s perfect for you!
- No previous experience is necessary to participate in this event as all training is provided during your shift by our knowledgeable Casino Advisors. If you have a preference for a specific shift or day, please let us know when you reach out.
- Cash handling, customer service, and basic math are a part of many of these volunteer roles, and all volunteers must be 18+ to participate. Volunteers are not allowed to engage in gambling or drinking at the casino for the duration of our two-day event (Jan. 13 and Jan.
14) even if you are only volunteering for one of the days. We encourage you to wear comfortable shoes to your shift and dress in layers. Projects and low-impact activities such as reading and knitting are allowed during your volunteer shift, but please be advised that laptops are prohibited. - Carpooling and/or transportation reimbursements can be arranged to get you to and from your volunteer shift by request. Please let us know if you require one of these transportation options when you reach out.
18+
Other RequirementsNo individual is eligible to work in a casino if charged or convicted, within the last five years of a criminal offence related to narcotics or to acts of dishonesty, including but not limited to offences involving fraud, currency, or gaming and betting or those against the rights of property (such as theft, robbery, forgery), or fire arms and offensive weapons, or an indictable offence for an act of violence against a person.
If five years after conviction an individual is still under sentence for such an offence, approval shall not be given under this application until completion of sentence. AGLC may contact police for relevant information about the applicant. If an individual has received a pardon under provisions of the Criminal Records Act, this policy will not apply.
