We’re hiring five Graduate Peer Mentors for a one year term (May 2026 – April 2027)! If you’re excited about building community, supporting fellow graduate students, and developing valuable professional skills, this role is a great opportunity to learn, grow, and make a positive impact. Guided by the SGS Graduate Studies Medicine Wheel, the program promotes holistic well being, mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical, across the graduate student experience.

About

the Role

Graduate Peer Mentors work on task based projects that support the diverse needs of graduate students. This flexible, creative position allows mentors to explore areas like community-building, workshop development, wellness initiatives, and student engagement.

Approx. 5 hours/week | 1 Full GA Per Term (Summer, Winter, Fall) 1 year term | Paid according to the ULGA Collective Agreement (112 Hours/Term).

What You’ll Do
  • Support SGS onboarding, welcome, and connection-building events.
  • Assist with workshops, wellness initiatives, and resource development.
  • Contribute to outreach projects, communication efforts, and student engagement.
  • Participate in team meetings, training and reflections.
Training & Skill Building

You’ll receive training grounded in holistic graduate support, including:

  • Inclusive, equity minded engagement.
  • Ethical boundaries & confidentiality.

Includes:

  • 1 hour per month of asynchronous training.
  • Additional workshops and team learning opportunities.
Required Qualifications
  • Be current U of L graduate students for the full term:
    May 2026 – April 2027.
  • Be entering at least the second year of their ULethbridge program.
  • Be in good academic standing.
  • Commit to ~5 hours per week.
  • Be enthusiastic about supporting a diverse graduate community through holistic, strengths-based approaches.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with student programming, leadership, teaching, or community-building.
  • Familiarity with U of L student services.
  • Interest in workshops, events, outreach, or resource creation.

Only registered University of Lethbridge graduate students are eligible to apply for this posting.

Graduate Assistant wages will be paid according to Schedule A of the ULGSA Collective Agreement.
