Overview
Faculty of Arts & Science – Assistant Professor (Chemistry and Biochemistry). The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Lethbridge invites applications for a tenure-track position in any area of experimental chemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor. The expected start date is July 1, 2026, subject to budgetary approval. Hiring salary will be in the range of $79,132 to $98,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Minimum qualifications include a doctoral degree in Chemistry and appropriate postdoctoral experience. The successful candidate will be expected to mount an externally funded research program that includes undergraduate and graduate students and will teach required introductory and senior courses in the Chemistry program. Evidence of background to teach synthetic chemistry and/or X-ray crystallography is an asset. The candidate should bring complementary experience and expertise to support diversification of the curriculum and research interests.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will:
- Establish and lead an externally funded research program involving undergraduate and graduate students.
- Teach required introductory and senior courses in the Chemistry program.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental programs.
