Position Description

The Department of Anthropology at the University of Lethbridge invites applications from sociocultural anthropologists for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor to commence on July 1, 2026, subject to budgetary approval. The hiring salary will be in the range of $79,132 to $98,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will be a sociocultural anthropologist with a strong and active record of ethnographic research and a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality research, and potential for securing research funding. They will be able to expand our faculty expertise and course offerings in terms of both geographical area of focus and research concentration.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach our general introductory class, contribute to teaching other required courses in our program, and to develop additional undergraduate courses relevant to their interests and expertise that contribute to our existing offerings.
