Pattison Media has an exciting opportunity for a News Reporter to join our team in Lethbridge, Alberta.

We’re dedicated to delivering local news across all our communities. We support local radio newsrooms that provide vital information to our communities, whether that’s news happening nearby or around the world, and how it impacts our lives. We share news on the air and through highly local online portals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for local news reporting and anchoring on B93 FM and Wild 95.5 – Lethbridge’s New Country radio stations, as well as on our online news portal, LNN – Lethbridge News Now !

• Report on local news and events in Lethbridge and southern Alberta by attending news conferences, breaking news situations, and other local meetings or events.
• Develop story ideas.
• Conduct phone interviews and turn press releases into local news stories.
• Assemble and record on-air news casts.
• Meet on-air deadlines.
• Help keep our online news portal updated and current.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Graduate of a broadcasting and/or journalism program.
• Strong skills in both broadcast and online news writing, as well as strong knowledge of Canadian Press style writing.
• Strong interviewing skills.
• A solid on-air delivery for both Radio and on-line video stories.
• Audio and Video editing skills and experience.
• Social Media knowledge and experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
