The Lethbridge Police Service is currently accepting applications for one or more
full-time permanentpositions of Media Disclosure Technician Reporting to the Body Worn Camera Coordinator, the Media Disclosure Technician will be responsible for analyzing, identifying, and redacting sensitive informationfrom digital media evidence to mitigate safety risks and legal liability, andensure playability of all digital media generated or received by the Lethbridge Police Service (LPS).
The Media Disclosure Technician will process audio and video evidencegenerated by the public and the LPS for disclosure for Federal and Provincial Court. They are responsible for vetting and editing digital media that meetsadmissibility requirements for Court. This includes evidentiary disclosure for audio and video recordings of statements that are taken under oath, witnessinterviews, In-Car digital video, Body-Worn Camera (BWC) footage, Closed Circuit (CCTV) video and any other digital evidence.
The Media Disclosure Technician(s) are new positions to the LPS and will be integral members of the LPS Media Disclosure Team, working underthe direction of the Body Worn Camera Coordinator to ensure digital evidence is properly reviewed, redacted, and prepared for disclosure. Accurate, compliant, and professionally edited media is essential to maintaining the integrity ofcourt proceedings. For this reason, a high level of accuracy, accountability, and technical competency is critical to the work performed by the Media Disclosure Team.
