Job Description
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Service Lead – Mental Health to oversee two acute inpatient wards within a well-established private mental health hospital. This senior clinical leadership role focuses on maintaining high standards of care, supporting multidisciplinary teams, and driving continuous service improvement, all within a weekday, daytime working pattern that supports work–life balance.
Salary: £53-55k + £3000 welcome bonus
Position: Service Lead – Mental Health
Hours: 9am–5.30pm, Monday to Friday
Setting: Acute inpatient mental health wards
Location: Baldock, Hertfordshire
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across two acute mental health wards
- Promote high-quality, patient-centred, evidence-based care
- Ensure safe staffing levels and effective rota management
- Provide visible clinical leadership, supervision, and mentorship
- Oversee ward operations and regulatory compliance
- Manage budgets and resources effectively
- Contribute to service development and clinical governance
- Professional registration in nursing, social work, or occupational therapy
- Significant experience within acute mental health services
- Proven leadership experience managing teams of 30+ staff
- Strong understanding of clinical governance and quality improvement
- Experience managing budgets and operational responsibilities
- £3,000 welcome bonus
