The role We are looking for someone who enjoys practical outdoor work, has an interest in environmental or civil engineering projects, and wants to develop their skills within a supportive team committed to protecting and enhancing Wales' natural environment, to join us at Natural Resources Wales (NRW) as an Integrated Engineering Site Supervisor. You will play a hands-on role in supporting the safe and effective delivery of civil engineering operations across Wales.

Working alongside engineers, project leads and operational teams, you'll help plan, coordinate and supervise work on the ground, ensuring activities are well prepared, compliant and aligned with programme needs. A key part of your work will involve visiting sites to collect and record accurate information, carrying out surveys, and supporting inspections of quarries, bridges, culverts and harvesting coupes. You'll produce clear sketches, plans and GPS-based records to support design and delivery decisions, contributing directly to the Forest Engineering Design & Delivery Plan.

You'll monitor construction activity through NRW's civil engineering framework, helping to keep projects on track and ensuring contractors meet required safety, environmental and quality standards. You'll maintain a comprehensive site diary and support the ongoing monitoring of infrastructure to ensure forest operations remain safe, clean and commercially viable. As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the NRW office at the above location and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment.

What you will do Be familiar with the requirements of managing health and safety on construction sites. Visit harvesting coupes and provide advice and support regarding facilities required during the coupe planning exercise. Aid the Engineering team with quarry, bridge and culvert inspections when required, and other site surveys as necessary. Collect, measure and record all the relevant information about a prospective site and its environs, with a view to providing information required under the Forest Engineering Design & Delivery Plan.

Produce simple graphical plans and sketches to communicate features and proposals, backed up by GPS location recording. Monitor construction of all civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with contract procedure, specification and all relevant health and safety, and environmental legislation. Produce a valid and comprehensive site diary, to act as contemporary record of progress and events. Monitor infrastructure conditions in order to sustain safe, clean and commercially advantageous forest operations.

Your qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills In your application and interview you will be asked to demonstrate the following skills and experience using the STAR method. Relevant experience in site-based Civil Engineering and ground works operations. Knowledge and understanding of CDM
2015. Knowledge of NEC ECC form of contract. Experience in using GIS based computer packages. Experience in MS Office suite of applications.

E.g. Word, Excel, Outlook. Knowledge of mobile GPS, to be used in planning works, providing principal setting-out points and general surveying. Ability to legally drive in the UK Welsh Language level requirements Essential:
Level A2 - Elementary level Welsh language levels
