Job Details- Location: Leonardtown, MD 20650 (St. Mary's County, Southern Maryland)
- Position: Travel Cardiac Stepdown RN / Telemetry RN (Intermediate Care - IMC)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 29, 2026)
- Shift: Day shift, 3x12‑hour shifts per week (07:00 – 19:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1710–$1800/week
- Employment Type: Travel nursing job
- Unit: Intermediate Care/Cardiac Stepdown (IMC) – Telemetry
- Patient Census: 15 beds, adult population
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required (schedule directed by unit needs)
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Minimum 2 years recent Cardiac Stepdown, IMC, or Telemetry RN experience (preferred: community hospital, LTAC, trauma exposure)
- Active RN license:
Maryland RN or Compact RN accepted (must be active and in good standing) - Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (minimum 80% overall; 100% on lethal rhythms)
- Demonstrated ability to manage patient ratios typically 1:4–1:6
- Comfortable floating to Telemetry and Medical‑Surgical units as needed
- First‑time travel nurses are welcome to apply
- Required:
Flu vaccine (no exemptions) and two supervisor references - Preferred skills: prior charge nurse experience, cardiac telemetry monitoring, familiarity with cardiac drips and advanced cardiac life support protocols
- Provide compassionate, evidence‑based nursing care to adult cardiac stepdown and telemetry patients
- Continuous cardiac monitoring and management of dysrhythmias; interpretation of telemetry strips and response to arrhythmias
- Administer and titrate non‑infusion and non‑titrating cardiac drips per unit protocol
- Perform bedside monitoring, IV/infusion therapy, and manage central and peripheral lines
- Care for patients with chest tubes, PCA infusions, enteral feeding tubes, and pre/post hemodialysis needs
- Use BiPAP/CPAP, high‑flow nasal cannula, and oxygen delivery devices as indicated
- Implement isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and maintain infection control standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members: respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, case management, and rapid response teams
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record and complete unit‑specific training modules
