Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) night shift position requiring PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience and EKG rhythm interpretation proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) of a hospital setting

• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week from 18:45 to 07:15

• Must float to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as needed, with typical ratios of 1:5 or 1:6

• Every other weekend is required based on operational needs

• No on-call responsibilities

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position

• No requested time off permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment and no more than 7 days off allowed per 13-week contract

• Completion of required online modules within one week of contract signing is mandatory

• Labs and direct service appointments must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing

• Candidates previously employed by Med Star must have a separation of at least one year before returning as travelers

• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are accepted at a lower rate

• Candidates may only be considered at one Med Star location at a time

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required at the time of consideration

• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

• Minimum of 2 years PCU, IMC, or Stepdown nursing experience required

• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least an 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms

• Two supervisor references from the past two years required
