Job Summary
St. Mary’s Ryken is seeking a dynamic, organized, and visionary Summer Camp Director to lead and grow our well-established summer camp program. This role combines strategic leadership, marketing expertise, and hands‑on camp management
. The Director will be responsible for increasing enrollment
, enhancing camper experience
, and overseeing daily operations to ensure a safe, engaging, and unforgettable summer for all participants.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to increase camper enrollment year over year.
- Identify new program opportunities to attract diverse camper populations.
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, and parent networks to promote the camp.
- Design and execute comprehensive marketing campaigns across digital, print, and social media platforms.
- Manage the camp’s website, social media accounts, and email communications to reflect the camp's mission and offerings.
- Oversee the production of promotional materials such as brochures, videos, and newsletters.
- Represent the camp at community events, fairs, and school visits.
- Hire, train, and manage seasonal camp staff including counselors, instructors, and support personnel.
- Ensure all programming is safe, inclusive, and aligned with the camp's values and goals.
- Manage camper registration, scheduling, and parent communications.
- Handle conflict resolution and disciplinary issues when necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, recreation, business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in camp leadership or youth program management.
- Proven success in marketing, enrollment growth, or program development.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate and manage staff.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving abilities.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
