At our state-of-the-art facility, we specialize in medical device component manufacturing, with advanced capabilities in machining and Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) injection molding. We are seeking a Director of Operations who is passionate about driving operational excellence, inspiring teams, and delivering world-class quality.

Position Summary

The Director of Operations is a vital member of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations. This includes logistics, planning, and maintenance/facilities, ensuring optimal use of materials, labor, and equipment. The role is crucial in aligning operational strategies with company goals, driving operational excellence, and maintaining the highest quality standards.

The Director of Operations will collaborate closely with the leadership team to develop and execute short-term and long-term strategic initiatives, ensuring productivity and profitability targets are met or exceeded. A high sense of urgency and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment are essential for this role.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and refine operational strategies, policies, and procedures to maximize efficiency, productivity, and profitability within a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Utilize company management and reporting systems to consistently monitor, manage, and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory management, labor efficiency, equipment costs, and other operational metrics impacting profitability and goals.
  • Lead operational excellence and best practices in a multi-shift manufacturing facility.
  • Identify areas for process improvements and production optimization to enhance capacity and workflows.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of managers, supervisors, and individual contributors.
  • Review KPIs with managers and provide guidance and coaching to ensure teams hit targets.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and execute strategic plans.
  • Recruit, train, develop, mentor, and motivate a high-performing operational team.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, morale, and a strong sense of unity.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Engage and empower the workforce.
  • Participate in multi-functional teams for problem-solving.
  • Implement Lean Six Sigma methodologies in operations to support continuous improvement and culture development.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration within operations and with cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain all aspects of cGMP compliance.
  • Manage and lead all capital expenditures.
  • Optimize on-time delivery, reduce backlogs, and increase productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory measures.
  • Drive a zero-injury safety culture and mindset.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Systems and data-driven; goal and results-oriented.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams at all levels.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with unquestionable integrity.
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in plastics injection molding and medical device manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated change management and leadership skills.
  • ISO 13485 experience preferred.
  • Expertise in ERP systems utilization.
  • Strong knowledge across multiple areas, including cGMP, GDP, validation principles, engineering, maintenance, and facilities principles.

The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $220,000
