Job Summary:Responsible for the design of electrical schematics and control panels, for automated packaging equipment and lines. Writes controls software on PLC platforms, Rockwell, Siemens and B&R. HMI programming experience with Factory Talk View ME and SE, Siemens Win CC and B&R. Perform equipment startup, debug and occasionally performs installation. Aids the assembly floor and service group with electrical and software issues.
Responsibilities also include design, programming and troubleshooting.
- Design, document and maintain PLC’s, HMI, Servo and other control programs for industrial packaging machinery.
- Develop schematics and electrical panel layouts, for control and power distribution, for packaging machinery using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Provide sustaining support and enhancements for existing product. Analysis and resolution of field issues.
- Assist in startup and commissioning of IMA North America Inc. equipment.
- Provide programming support, remotely or at customer’s sites, for equipment upgrades or improvements.
- General responsibility to maintain knowledge of current industry trends and technology as it applies to IMA North America Inc.
- Interact with Engineering and Project Management to establish and maintain machine build schedules.
- Follow current agency rules and guidelines as they apply to IMA North America Inc. Equipment. (i.e. NEC, NFPA
70, cGMP) - Provide support and training to field service technicians specific to electrical control systems.
- Participate in industry-based events such as seminars, trade shows etc. to maintain working knowledge of competitive equipment and industry trends.
- All other duties as assigned.

- Knowledgeable with Rockwell Automation, PLC’s, Siemens TIA Portal, Factory Talk View, CTC Interact and B&R Automation.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
Experience:
- BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- 4+ years’ experience in equipment manufacturing.
- Manual dexterity to use a keyboard.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Able to hear and speak clearly in person and over the phone.
- Occasional travel required. Estimated at 10%, with a typical duration of 1 week.
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
- May be required to stay late or come in early to complete important tasks.
