Overview
Pay or shift range: $110,000 USD to $127,000 USD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
DescriptionEssential Duties and Major responsibilities:
- Provide direct service to patients
- Ensure that DPH, OSHA and Dental Association regulations are strictly followed.
- Comply with departmental protocols
- Meet productivity standards (if applicable)
- Provide general dentistry and general supervision of dental assistants and hygienists.
- Attend required meetings
- Commitment to providing dental care to families in a medically under-served community.
- Willingness to be flexible in the development of new methods of dental services delivery.
- Ability to deal with sensitive information in a highly confidential manner.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors, co-workers, health care professionals, funders, and other regulatory agencies.
- Works as part of team.
- Awareness of resources available within the health center to accommodate the needs of patients.
- Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the health center mission
- Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the established CHC Values and Standards
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Post-Graduate training in Pedo.
- DDS or DMD from an accredited Dental School or minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery
- Massachusetts Controlled Substance certificate and DEA required.
- Certified in CPR
- Licensed in Massachusetts to practice Dentistry/Valid Massachusetts Limited License in Dentistry.
- Minimum of three years’ professional experience preferred
- Public Health experience preferred.
- Proficient reading, writing, and speaking in English required
Individual departments will develop competencies which will be communicated and maintained through CHC’s performance evaluation system.
Supervision ExercisedFunctional responsibility of chair-side Dental Assistant, Certified Dental Assistant.
Environmental Working ConditionsThe environment is a normal office environment of a busy Community Health Center. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to saliva and blood-borne pathogens. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of radiation.
Physical and Mental RequirementsThe physical and mental demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job with or without a reasonable accommodation. The individual must be in good health of mind and body with the physical dexterity and vision suitable to accomplish the job duties outlined above. Knowledge of proper patient transfer assistance is also required and the ability to lift as much as 50 pounds may be necessary.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.
