As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care to patients in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
How You'll Contribute- Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
- Establishes and maintains efficient methods of ensuring the medical necessity and appropriateness of all hospital admissions while obtaining precertifications.
- Performs admission and concurrent precerts for patients to ensure that the claim has an authorization number to prevent denials.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with payors, staff, etc.
- Maintains proper telephone etiquette to referral sources.
- Manage patients along with RN case manager supervision.
- Evaluate patient status is correct per medical necessity for appropriate reimbursement.
- Reviews charts for clinical information to obtain precertification.

- Minimum Education
- High School Diploma Or Equivalent Required
- Previous Family Practice experience a plus!
- Required Skills
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Licenses:
Current LPN license in state of NC
