Outpatient Psych APP at UNC Caldwell - Greater Hickory Metro Area, NC
UNC Caldwell is the choice for health care in Caldwell County. The Emergency Department sees approximately 30,000 visits a year. Caldwell Physician Network and UNC Health Medical Group provide the majority of primary care and select specialty care to our market from thirteen separate medical park locations throughout the county. Our 137-bed licensed acute care hospital is a member of the UNC Health System.
The new Jonas Hill Hospital and Clinic features 27 inpatient beds as well as a full-spectrum outpatient clinic with a multi-disciplinary staff. It is located adjacent to UNC Caldwell hospital in the heart of Western, NC.
Position Information- Full‑time opportunity for an outpatient provider
- Psych Certified APP with 2‑3 years of psych experience is required
- Licensed and certified PMHNP; ANCC or AANP Board Certified
- Experience with EPIC is preferred
- Location – Jonas Hill Clinic, 407 Mulberry Street, Lenoir NC 28645
- Provide direct patient care in office setting for a min. of 36 hours, serving ages 6‑30 approximately
- Monday – Friday, no ED call, no clinic call
- Duties – provide patient care to adults and children through assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health needs. Provide medication management and perform psychiatric evaluations for patients pursuing OP services. Provide psychiatric leadership and direction for the treatment team. Work within a multidisciplinary treatment team under the supervision of MD psychiatrist.
- Provider will see an average of 10‑12 patients per day

SummaryA Nurse Practitioner functions as part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high quality, cost effective care to patients within the APPs scope of practice in collaboration with a supervising physician. The APP reflects the mission, vision, and values of the organization, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and other regulatory and accreditation standards.
ResponsibilitiesClinical – obtains relevant health and medical history, performs thorough physical assessment, reviews and interprets pertinent diagnostic tests/results, develops appropriate differential diagnoses, implements treatment plans including prescribing/ordering of appropriate evidence‑based pharmacological agents and schedules appropriate follow‑up management, conducts preventive health screening, maintains clear comprehensive records, maintains essential knowledge of general disease and pathologic processes, and consistently provides correct diagnoses through synthesis of clinical data.
