Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Pay: $29.66+ per hour, subject to factors such as experience, certifications, and performance; eligible for annual bonus.

This position, within the Forensic Toxicology Drug Testing Laboratory, reviews analytical data to ensure accuracy, completeness and defensibility of testing results and reporting documents prior to release of a report.

Responsibilities
  • Certify negative and non‑negative drug testing results per SOP Manual.
  • Ensure all laboratory results are accurate and legally defensible.
  • Describe standard drug testing procedures from collection to positive certification for court.
  • Interact professionally with clients, medical review officers, call center representatives, and sales staff to address questions.
  • Engage with laboratory inspectors to demonstrate knowledge of SOPs, QC, analytical procedures, and regulations.
  • Provide feedback to Supervisor and Responsible Person to maintain accurate SOPs.
  • Take remedial action when test systems are out of control or detect aberrant results.
  • Serve as a technical resource across laboratory sections.
  • Follow work schedule as defined by the Certifying Scientist Supervisor.
  • Participate actively in department meetings, providing constructive feedback.
  • Assist with records management and retrieval as required.
  • Maintain proficiency in technical testing areas and knowledge of instrumentation.
  • Keep working knowledge of accessioning procedures for specimen and chain of custody handling.
  • Maintain understanding of federal, state, and other regulatory requirements for forensic drug testing.
  • Comply with health and safety policies, including PPE.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required

Work Experience:

Six years in forensic analytical toxicology or equivalent.

Education: BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology.

Physical and Mental Requirements: Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods.

Knowledge
  • Proficient with laboratory methods and procedures relevant to certification.
  • Experience reviewing and reporting results, maintaining chain of custody, and applying proper remedial action.
  • Understanding of quality control practices, data review processes, interpretation of test results, and reporting protocols.
Skills

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
