Branch Manager – Geotechnical Engineering
We are seeking a highly skilled Branch Manager to lead our Geotechnical Engineering team in Lenexa, KS. This role offers a competitive compensation package, including a sign‑on bonus. The successful candidate will oversee the office’s operational, client, and technical goals, ensuring high standards of service and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Oversee the overall performance of the office’s operational, client, and technical goals across the Engineering, Testing, and Drilling divisions.
- Make decisions related to office facilities, engagement, and local marketing to support team objectives.
- Monitor financial performance and analyze current and future activities, costs, and operational efficiency, providing regular feedback to management.
- Evaluate employee performance objectively, setting goals to enhance technical skills, project management, and client service.
- Manage personnel to achieve office goals, including recruiting, hiring, and terminations.
- Collaborate with unit managers and marketing staff to set direction for client‑related pursuits and marketing goals.
- Direct client contracting within the office, adhering to established authority grant policies.
- Monitor and improve project management skills related to financial performance and client retention.
- Foster a cross‑functional, multi‑discipline work environment to be an employer of choice and a leading consultant.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
- Effective response to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or the business community.
- Proven ability to manage team success and conflict, supporting company interests.
- Understanding of internal systems and practices, with the ability to train and manage adherence.
- Proven leadership in small or large groups through a service‑oriented leadership style.

Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or ten+ years of related industry experience and/or training, or a combination of education and experience.
- Experience in geotechnical, civil, or rail‑related engineering projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is flexible but preferred.
- Business development experience and community connections are advantageous.
This position is based in Lenexa, KS, with a preference for local candidates, although relocation is an option. The role is not strictly hybrid but offers scheduling flexibility. The Branch Manager will oversee a team of 5‑7 Engineers and 12‑15 CMTs and will report to a Vice President based in Minnesota. The role involves business development within the community, particularly in rail‑related projects.
