Primary RoleResponsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electronic communication systems, with experience in VOIP, SIP, computer and networking systems. The technician ensures efficient and effective service to minimize downtime and maximize performance while communicating system performance to the customer.
Responsibilities- Responsible for the final hookup and programming of electronics equipment for new jobs
- Respond promptly to customer service‑related issues
- Test and document readings for customer’s systems
- Update customer files
- Troubleshoot and repair electronic components
- Handle on‑call duties on a regular scheduled basis
- Train and instruct the customer on proper use of the equipment
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
- Operate test equipment:
Volt Meter, Ohm Meter, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multimeter, and Impedance Meter - Assist with preventive maintenance of customer equipment
- Accurately track time sheets, service/installation tickets, and inventory items
- Comply fully with company and customer safety programs
- Perform other duties as required or assigned by company management
The Systems Technician reports to the Project Manager. Secondary accountability is to other management team members, employees, and customers of the company.
QualificationsA two‑year electronics degree or equivalent combination of education and 1–3 years related field experience is desirable. A working knowledge of communications systems is required. Experience with VoIP, telephony, data networks, wireless data, fire alarm, CCTV, sound systems, or nurse call applications is preferred. Cisco and Microsoft certifications are desirable.
Education Requirements- Minimum:
High school graduate. Must read and write at basic English proficiency and compute basic math functions without difficulty. Ability to read CAD‑generated prints, building blueprints, and riser diagrams. Solid grasp of basic electronics/electrical theory—formal instruction preferred. Proficient with PC and capable of simple engineering and construction. - Preferred:
Associate degree in Electronics, IT, or Computer Programming; NSCA CEST Certification, NICET certification, RCDD, and factory training a plus.
Some out‑of‑town travel may be required.
