Scrum Master

Location:
Lenexa, KS (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

Contract Duration: 12 months

We’re looking for a mid‑level Scrum Master who can support a collaborative Agile environment, guide teams through Scrum ceremonies, and help drive continuous improvement. This role works closely with Product Owners, Solution Analysts, Development Managers, and cross‑functional technical teams to ensure successful delivery of software initiatives.

• Support the management of roadmaps, project scopes, and objectives in partnership with Product and Development leadership.
• Lead projects requiring simple to moderately complex changes to existing processes.
• Collaborate, negotiate, and resolve issues with internal stakeholders; help manage conflict and navigate scope changes.
• Collect project sizing estimates and ensure accuracy of project documentation.
• Make decisions within established methodologies and recommend improvements when needed.
• Run daily Scrum meetings and guide teams through all Agile ceremonies, including Grooming/Refinement, Sprint Planning, Demos, Retrospectives, and Daily Standups.
• Foster a team culture grounded in engagement, transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Work with development leads on capacity planning and resource allocation.
• Protect teams from unnecessary distractions and external interruptions.
• Coach teams on breaking down business requirements into effective user stories and tasks.
• Help advance Agile maturity, best practices, and improvements in tools, processes, and team structure.
• Identify and resolve impediments using strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Track and leverage KPI data to support performance and improvement efforts.
• Contribute to the documentation and communication of development processes as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

• 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master using Scrum, Scrumban, Kanban, or SAFe.
• Experience in software development or project management.
• Demonstrated success leading complex product development efforts.
• Proficiency with Jira.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to manage conflict and collaborate across multiple teams.
• Advanced negotiation and issue‑resolution skills.
• Experience reviewing and interpreting a variety of data sources to support decision‑making.

• 6+ years of relevant experience & 5+ years of project management experience within a software development environment.
• PMP certification.
• Technical understanding or hands‑on experience with software development, microservices, and web technologies.
• Experience with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
• Familiarity with development‑related tools such as VS Code, Git, Docker, Google Cloud Platform, Python, or SQL.
• Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
