We are adding Senior level Mechanical Designers to our Kiewit Industrial Engineering team with 7+ years of experience with relatable mechanical design experience, 3D modeling for mechanical equipment/balance of plant systems for Industrial markets.

We are looking for designers with experience in REVIT to create 3D equipment models, mechanical layouts, and piping systems for our broad portfolio of projects with interest and experience in leading projects and small mechanical teams. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with subject matter experts, as you support the full spectrum of design, from conceptual (pre-FEED), to FEED to detailed design for design/build and EPC projects for facilities across North America.

We have a diverse portfolio of work that includes Data Centers, Water and Wastewater treatment, Chemical facilities, and Campus/Utilities/Industrial Energy (small scale Power).

This position can be located in our Lenexa, Kansas, Lone Tree, Colorado, offices. We offer relocation assistance to our district office in Lenexa Kansas.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize REVIT and Smart Plant 3D (or other 3D design software) to create 3D equipment models based off equipment drawings. Draft sketches, P&IDs, and model 3D equipment for industrial facilities.
  • Support all 3D modeling for mechanical systems, equipment and piping. Generate isometric drawings for systems typical for industrial energy, datacenters, bulk solids material handling, and other industrial facilities including, but not limited to, chilled water systems, heat exchangers for water circulation, cooling distribution units (CDU), Computer Room Air Handling Units (CRAH), Fan Walls, Containment walls for Air cooling, fan walls, process steam, process water, drains, and general plant/facility water, compressed air, and gas systems.
  • Perform early project design work related to facility layout and equipment general arrangement.
  • Develop and check design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards, contract requirements, and company standards. Lead projects and teams of mechanical designers.
  • Develop the capability to navigate 3D models and check for interferences and constructability.
  • Support the construction team including representing the design team on-site, answering RFIs, providing creative design solutions, etc.
