Pay Rate: $48.50 per hour
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies:
1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or
2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
In this role, you will perform a range of engineering tasks that enhance manufacturability, streamline workflow, and elevate product performance.
Core Responsibilities- Execute a broad range of manufacturing engineering assignments under general supervision.
- Use Design for Manufacturability (DFM) techniques to support new product development and redesign existing products.
- Develop routings, labor standards, and ERP system updates.
- Write and revise work instructions and acceptance test procedures.
- Plan and document sequences of manufacturing operations and standard work.
- Design tools, fixtures, and equipment to improve quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Create and modify small cell or simple assembly lines to optimize layout and productivity.
- Implement complex manufacturing processes using statistical process control.
- Improve production floor layouts for maximum efficiency and operator safety.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Identify process improvements to enhance product quality or reduce cost.
- Audit manufacturability of existing products and provide recommendations.
- Conduct tests throughout production to control variables and diagnose process or equipment failures.
- Analyze customer returns, lead root‑cause investigations, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Develop and update PFMEAs.
- Perform cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and Lean studies.
- Prepare cost estimates and cost‑benefit analyses for proposed projects.
- Maintain awareness of state‑of‑the‑art technologies and recommend improvements.
- Develop tools that support manufacturing, process improvements, and safety initiatives.
- Research new methods and equipment for continuous improvement.
- Design and optimize station loading and line balancing.
- Create and maintain staffing plans based on sales demand.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering.
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficient Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of DFM techniques.
- Experience working in an ERP system.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specs, and technical data.
- Strong analytical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- AutoCAD 2D experience required.
- Experience with Fluid Power and Mechanical Systems.
- Lean Manufacturing experience.
- Siemens NX experience.
- Background applying Lean principles to process improvement and cost control.
