Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Draftsman to join a collaborative and high-performing design team in Lenexa, Kansas. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels at translating electrical design concepts into accurate, code-compliant construction documents.
As an Electrical Draftsman, you will work closely with engineers, architects, and project stakeholders to develop high-quality drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools. Responsibilities- Produce detailed electrical drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM software
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to gather specifications, calculations, and design requirements
- Review, revise, and update drawings based on project feedback while maintaining version control
- Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain organized and accurate documentation for all project drawings and records
- Assist with material takeoffs and support cost estimation efforts
- Conduct occasional site visits to verify field conditions and measurements
- Uphold high standards of quality, professionalism, and teamwork
- Associate’s degree or technical certificate in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in electrical drafting and design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (BIM experience strongly preferred)
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, architectural plans, and engineering principles
- Knowledge of applicable building codes and industry regulations
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
