Construction Observer – Water Environment

GBA is seeking a Construction Observer to support water/wastewater/stormwater projects in the Kansas City metro area from the Lenexa office. This is a full‑time field position.

• Oversee construction observation activities throughout project duration.
• Maintain daily contractor correspondence and complete daily progress reports.
• Review payment applications, change orders, and as‑constructed drawings.

• High school diploma.
• Experience in heavy construction industry preferred.
• Experience with wastewater treatment plants or pump stations highly preferred.
• Ability to complete electronic forms on tablets or computers in a timely manner.
• 1‑2 years of experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must work effectively both on a team and individually.
• Current driver’s license required for travel to and from field worksites.
• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs. Ability to carry safety equipment to worksites when out in the field.

• Local day travel required.
• Some overnight travel may be necessary.
