Position Overview
Our Kansas Division seeks an experienced Project Manager with expertise in roadway, highway, and interstate design. The role involves managing infrastructure projects for State DOTs, local municipalities, and private clients, including roadways, sidewalks, parks, multimodal improvements, and bridge projects. Collaboration across disciplines is essential.
Location
This hybrid role can be based in any of our Kansas/Missouri offices:
Kansas City, KS;
Topeka, KS;
Wichita, KS;
Manhattan, KS;
Lenexa, KS; or Kansas City, MO.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage transportation projects, including budgets and schedules
- Lead project teams and mentor junior staff
- Contribute to regional growth initiatives
- Build and maintain client relationships with DOTs, counties, and municipalities
- Represent Benesch at industry events
- Identify opportunities and lead project pursuits
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Communicate findings effectively through written and verbal means
- Participate in business development activities
- Research relevant regulations and assist with grant applications
Qualifications
- B.S. in Engineering or related field; PE license required
- Strong communication and client relation skills
- Experience presenting to officials and attending conferences
- Leadership and organizational skills
- Experience in transit planning and project management
- Knowledge of public bidding processes
