Brief Description
An Apparel Design Intern uses design skills to create & deliver a to be determined project over the course of their internship. The focus can be creative, technical, or both. Once the candidate is found, they will be assigned to a brand and a project will be developed with both the corporate needs and the candidate’s strengths and aspirations in mind.
You will work with design leadership and partner teams to ensure project feasibility (impact / deadlines / interfaces / priorities / skill building / execution).
Additionally, you will support the team and work on all aspects of design - color, fabric, silhouette, trim, fit, construction, & marketing.
You will learn how to be a partner to multiple teams (Technical Design, Brand, Sourcing, QA, Country Managers and Graphics).
If aligned to a Brand (ie: UA, Champion, etc…), you will be introduced to and learn the Brand history, the current design ethos, and how to translate that ethos into product for our markets.
This opportunity involves an understanding of current trends through research and exposure to both our consumers and customers. In addition, participation in activities that will increase understanding and working knowledge of market is obligatory.
- Daily work is initially supervised, but the goal is for work to be primarily unsupervised
- Travel is not expected in this position but could occur.
- Focus of work can be creative, technical, or a combination of both.

EssentialDuties
- Conceptual Design
Skills:
Ability to apply & perform design skills such as drawing/sketching, color concepts, use of fabric & trim, as well as visual presentation & layout - BOM Builds: Ability to build accurate BOMs including: (details omitted)
- Weekly Meetings: Responsible to bring relevant samples, material, etc. to these meetings as needed
- Team Contribution: Responsible to provide "customer service" as needed to the Teams we interface with on a daily basis; able to help ease burden of entire team; responsible to learn existing systems, processes & tools
- Professionalism: Ability to conduct oneself in accordance to our Corporate Values, as well as to show accuracy & competence in one's daily workload.
- Currently enrolled in an Apparel & Product Development Program
- Must be well acquainted with Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator and Creative Suite programs
- Tech Packs (PDL/PLM) knowledge/working experience preferred
- 3D experience preferred (Browzwear a plus)
- Familiarity using AI
- Must be currently enrolled at one of the following institutions:
University of Georgia, University of South Carolina, University of Cincinnati, University of North Carolina, University of Southern California, University of Maryland
