Eaton’s IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Materials Manager – Manufacturing Multi‑Site. The expected annual salary range for this role is $–$ per year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Salary information is a general guideline only and is based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications as well as market and business considerations.
- This role must work on‑site daily at our Carol Stream, IL location. Relocation assistance is available for a qualified candidate residing in the USA.
The supply chain orchestration from customer to supplier requires end‑to‑end visibility to make informed decisions and optimize business operations execution holistically. This Multi‑Site (US, Mexico) Materials Manager position is responsible for material function performance across core business objectives such as inventory, freight, cost, and customer satisfaction. The manager will oversee product sales of approximately $190M annually and manage all SKUs/product lines, capacities and roles for Power Connections, focusing on an SIOP horizon of 0‑18+ months.
The incumbent will make trade‑off decisions to optimize business material KPIs holistically.
- Manages a team of operational buyers, production planners and customer service personnel in Power Connections sites.
- Manages capacity versus demand (0‑18+ months horizon), flags exceptions, and drives solutions and decision making to close gaps.
- Partners with operations materials at sites for warehousing and operational procurement if gaps require escalation.
- Manages replenishment strategy across the value stream in line with the inventory policy and conducts regular parameter audits.
- Creates the consensus supply plan, balancing finished‑goods inventory and capacity with the objective to meet demand on‑time and in full.
- Ensures production schedule adherence and attainment.
- Works with SIOP and business teams to update finished‑goods inventory targets and inventory policies.
- Reviews supply and inventory performance metrics, inventory outlook projections, identifies gaps versus targets and improvement opportunities, and liaises with stakeholders to execute improvement action plans.
- Is accountable for value‑stream improvements in cash, cost and customer‑service results.
- Initiates scenario planning to optimize service, cash and costs.
- Provides relevant information to the divisional SIOP meetings regarding supply versus demand (capacity) and finished‑goods inventory performance.
Basic Qualifications (required):
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Seven or more years of supply‑chain management and planning experience for a global or multi‑plant manufacturing or industrial company.
- Experience working across supply chain or operations with a proven track record of influencing and delivering results across the end‑to‑end product and supply‑chain management processes.
- Previous experience managing or leading a team.
- Previous experience managing complex material flows across multi‑tier manufacturing and distribution networks.
- Ability to work without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or master’s degree in supply‑chain, operations or engineering.
- Previous experience in automotive or electronics manufacturing.
- Prior experience with advanced planning systems.
- Broad foundational technical expertise across planning, execution, procurement and plant operations.
- Experience building strong partnerships and influencing cross‑functional stakeholders in sales, finance, product‑line leaders and HR.
- Deep understanding of how supply chain impacts P&L and working capital.
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
- Ability to analyze, interpret and derive conclusions on large volumes of data.
- CPIM certification is a plus.
- Process‑oriented and results‑driven, with ability to manage multiple projects and activities.
- High level of motivation, sense of urgency and energetic approach to job duties and requirements.
- Ability to travel approximately 30% within the US and Mexico.
