Position: SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION)

About the Position

This position is located at Naval Health Clinic Lemoore, Lemoore CA. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.

Duties
  • Reviews the acquisition and implementation of new system hardware and software and develops operating procedures.
  • Installs and maintains software and hardware, control current versions and future releases of applications software, and document the physical configuration of all information systems.
  • Develops and maintains procedures for system operations and product assembly and installation.
  • Performs periodic audits and reviews to ensure STIGS have been properly implemented.
  • Plans, develops, and implements security techniques, procedures and guidance to ensure that user access control (physical, personnel, software, and information security) and other security requirements are in place.
  • Identifies the problem and provide expert technical advice on new or improved information technology and procedures and determines is improvement of current systems is required.
  • Serves as a technical expert performing feasibility studies, which involve application of emerging computer technology to resolve unique user network requirements.
  • Serves as 1st line supervisor, provides direct supervision for assigned employees.
  • Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
  • Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities; evaluates work performance; gives advice, counsel or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
Requirements
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CompTIA Security+ + certification by completing required training within six (6) months of employment.
  • This position has a TDY or business travel requirement of 10% of the time to various locations. This may require travel on military aircraft, ships, and vehicles.
