• Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders including Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures following company policy.
• Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, work honestly to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures, report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment, answer product questions.
• Comply with all laws and company guidelines.
• Work effectively in high-paced, stressful environments.
• Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help when needed.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
