This position is responsible for interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives, and performing assigned tasks while providing legendary customer service.

As a Team Member, you must be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented, capable of fulfilling all the following requirements:

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Support selling initiatives (TEAM):
  • Thank the customer
  • Engage with the customer and/or pet
  • Advise on products or services
  • Make the experience memorable
• Perform a variety of duties including:
  • Operate cash register/computer following established procedures
  • Merchandise recovery and assembly
  • Participate in freight processing and merchandising resets
  • Perform janitorial duties and execute price changes/markdowns
  • Assist customers with loading purchases
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of live animals, including sanitizing tanks and caring for animals
  • Complete all related documentation
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience:

No experience required; retail and/or pet/live animal knowledge is preferred.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Ability to read, write, and count accurately is essential.

• Pet/live animal, pet food, and pet product knowledge
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Basic computer skills
• Interpersonal skills and ethical conflict resolution

• Indoor environment with moderate noise; outdoor areas on hard surfaces
• Shifts typically no less than 4 hours, possibly exceeding 8 hours
• Adherence to safety guidelines

• Non-sedentary role requiring movement throughout the store and outdoor areas
• Ability to lift or reach overhead, frequently stand, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders
• Operate store equipment safely and accurately
• Move merchandise and live animals weighing up to 50 pounds
• Complete training and certification as required
