About The Role

Join us as a Station Guide at Sizewell B Power Station, where you'll be the face and voice of our station.

Delivering engaging presentations and site tours to diverse groups. This role offers flexible part‑time hours and the chance to educate and inspire school and college groups, the public, and business visitors.

The Opportunity

In this role, you'll be the ambassador of Sizewell B Power Station, delivering presentations and site tours to various groups. You'll need to be quick‑thinking, friendly, and confident in all aspects of the role, ensuring a positive experience for all visitors regardless of background.

This role is offered as a permanent, annualised‑hours contract. We’re recruiting on a flexible contract, with a minimum contracted hours of 8 per week. However, tour demand is such that our guides often work more than their contracted hours.

Hours are Monday – Friday, occasional evening work may be required.

Pay, Benefits & Culture

Alongside a salary of £29,074.00 (pro‑rata), and a market‑leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal. We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season‑ticket loans.

We’re on an action‑oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability, and support social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What

You’ll Be Doing

As a Station Guide, you’ll be an ambassador for Sizewell B—showcasing our work, our values, and our commitment to safe, reliable, low‑carbon energy. You’ll lead tours, deliver presentations, and help shape memorable experiences for schools, colleges, community groups, businesses, and the public.

This role combines the flexibility of a part‑time contract with the opportunity to take on more hours and make a real impact in the community. Although the contract guarantees 8 hours per week, the ongoing high demand for tours and outreach means that most Station Guides work around 18 hours per week, offering both stability and increased earning potential.

Alongside leading tours on site, you’ll also play a key role in our schools and community outreach programme. This includes visiting local primary and secondary schools to deliver engaging sessions about energy, engineering, safety, and STEM pathways—helping inspire the next generation.

Because the role is annualised, you’ll benefit from:

  • Flexible scheduling, ideal if you’re balancing other commitments.
  • Regular opportunities for additional hours during busy periods.
  • A varied and rewarding workload, split between on‑site tours and off‑site school outreach.
  • Consistent demand, ensuring a steady flow of hours well above the minimum contract.
  • Monday to Friday daytime work, typically in 4–8‑hour shifts.

If you’re looking for a role with flexibility, purpose, and the chance to meaningfully engage with the community—both on site and in local schools—this is a great fit.

Who You Are
  • Confidence presenting to a variety of audiences
  • Motivation and enthusiasm to learn about nuclear energy
  • Strong communication and customer‑service skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • The ability to lead 3‑hour walking tours (physical fitness required)
  • A UK driving licence
  • Experience working with young people (an advantage)

Most of your time will be spent leading tours on site, so you should enjoy being active and engaging with groups of all ages.

Closing and Requirements

Closing date for applications is Wednesday March 18th, and interviews will follow shortly after.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.

Success is Personal. It's your journey, powered by us. Join us and drive the transition towards an Electric Britain.
