The Opportunity

Our Energy Division is leading initiatives to support positive change and help shape the future of Clean Energy. Operational throughout the UK and across continental Europe, we are expanding our team on a variety of clean energy projects that span a wide range of technologies and development stages. We seek talented individuals excited about nuclear projects and committed to Net Zero and Energy Security.

In both client‑facing and internal roles, we deliver major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle, driving safe, high‑quality, on‑time solutions through innovative, collaborative approaches.

We are recruiting Programme Managers to support key project deliverables across our Energy Programme portfolio. The initial roles will lead on c £1bn major civil projects, where you will be responsible for safely delivering projects to time, quality, and budget while collaboratively driving contractor performance to ready the sites for the main construction phases. These positions will be based in the South‑East of England and will require a commitment to being on sites or in the offices 4–5 days per week.

  • Leading the establishment of strong and enduring relationships with customers, partners, supply chain, and stakeholders to ensure strategy delivery and position for future opportunities.
  • Create an outcome‑focused culture that provides value solutions to ensure customer success.
  • Working with the wider Amentum business to create, shape and deliver innovative value‑adding solutions for our clients.
  • Proposing and implementing innovative value propositions in the market that support customer strategy and differentiate from the competition.
  • Shaping customer thinking and supporting customers’ change programmes.
Here’s What You’ll Need
  • Educated to degree level in Civil Engineering.
  • Effective commercial/contract management and negotiation skills, with clear knowledge of best‑practice contract methodologies.
  • Success in delivering large‑scale civil infrastructure projects (such as highways, rail, marine) in the construction delivery phase.
  • Leadership, collaborative and team‑working skills.
  • Able to demonstrate a considerable track record of successful contract negotiations and effective contract administration.
  • Experienced in contractor management and supply chain.
  • Highly developed commercial skills and demonstrable ability to make sound decisions on matters of significant financial value.
  • Track record with the most common forms of contract (NEC & FIDIC) within the power construction industry and major project‑and‑programme environments.
  • Good understanding of the UK legal and regulatory framework.
  • Experienced at operating at senior levels; comfortable managing internal and external stakeholders effectively at an executive/senior level.
  • Commercial management and oversight on major nuclear programmes (£100m‑£30 Bn).
