Health and Safety Advisor

Location:

Sizewell C, Leiston, Suffolk

(5 days a week onsite)

Contract:

Permanent, Full‑Time

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (dependent on experience) plus benefits

Benefits include:
Up to 5% Bonus, 28 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays, Contributory Pension (up to 7.5% employee / 15% employer), Ongoing Professional Development

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor with a strong background in construction to support the safe and efficient delivery of key projects at Sizewell

C.

You’ll provide expert health and safety advice across a wide range of site operations including infrastructure, facilities management, logistics, waste, fuel, accommodation, catering, health, and security.

Working closely with Project Managers, Engineering Leads, and Tier 1 Contractors, you’ll ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements, particularly under the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (CDM).

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with construction leaders to embed safety into every phase of the project
  • Provide expert guidance on legislative and site‑specific safety standards
  • Drive a proactive approach to risk mitigation in high‑pressure environments
  • Ensure compliance with CDM and all other relevant H&S Regulations across all contractors
  • Promote health, safety, and wellbeing throughout all project stages
What You’ll Bring
  • Broad experience in Health & Safety standards within construction (including CDM Regulation experience)
  • Recognised Health & Safety qualification – Level 6 Diploma or equivalent
  • IOSH Membership
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • Proven track record in leading investigations and delivering safety improvements
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Passion for continuous improvement in health, safety, and wellbeing
  • Organised and able to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Desirable
  • Degree in Construction, NEBOSH Diploma, H&S NVQ/Diploma or Certificate in Environmental Studies, or a related field
