CNC Turner / Programmer: 2 Axis CNC Turning – Late shift – Permanent

Salary:
Depending on Experience Range £37k-£41k per annum flat rate =

(£49,321k – £54,653k per annum including late shift premium rate at time plus one third).

Are you an experienced CNC Turner / CNC Machinist looking to work for a more established local manufacturing business? Do you have a passion for precision engineering, an excellent understanding of the turning process and can work to tight tolerances and surface finishes? Our Client is a long-established business that specialises in the manufacture of low volume, high quality, tubular and threaded components for various sectors including Aerospace, Oil & Gas and Defense industries and due to continuous expansion, we are actively hiring for an experienced CNC Turner / CNC Programmer as we are looking to expand our engineering team.

Experience Required

• Proven time served experience in programming, setting and operating 2 axis CNC turning machines.
• Ability to write new CNC programs long hand at the machine with little or no supervision.
• Experience programming using Fanuc controls & ‘Manual Guide i’ software would be advantageous
• Experience programming using G codes would be advantageous
• Also, editing prewritten programs, the full machine setup including material, tooling, speeds, feeds.
• Carry out in-process inspection using measuring equipment.
• Producing one off, as well as low to medium volume precision parts in a range of hard and soft metals.
• Excellent working knowledge of 2 axis CNC machines, cutting speeds and feeds, geometric tolerances.
• Solid understanding of interpreting engineering drawings and standards.
• Have a strong working history within the manufacturing industry within a machine shop environment.
• Have a hands-on, quality driven, positive, self-motivated manner in order to be able to hit the ground running.
• Confident in working on various size parts anything from ¢25mm x 100mm up to ¢300mm x 3m, hoist lifting equipment & hoist training is provided.

Package and Benefits:

• Salary depending on experience. Range £37-£41k per annum flat rate, however late shift premium is time plus a third.
• The position is full-time and permanent, and an immediate start is available.
• Hours are Monday – Wednesday 4.30pm – 3.30am, Thursday 4.30pm – 1.00am.
• Holidays are 28 days including Bank Holidays + extra bonus holiday over the Christmas Period to ensure a full shutdown.
