Mechanical Estimator

Position: Mechanical Estimator (Permanent)
Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Estimator on behalf of a successful HVAC Facilities company who specialise in commercial hvac systems and mechanical services.

With over 40 years’ experience, they work on a range of sites including schools, offices, hospitals, warehouses, pharmaceutical sites, gyms and many more.

We are looking for candidates with experience estimating projects from £0 - £3 million mechanical value (HVAC and Plumbing).

This is a permanent position, based in Leighton Buzzard, paying £60k - £65k per annum.

Perks include company profit share paid every quarter – dependant on company performance, pension, 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays rising a day up to 25 days for every year of service etc.

Responsibilities

* Work on projects ranging from £0 - £3

Million mechanically.

* All aspects of Tender Documentation and Preparation including; reading drawings and specifications.

* Assess key supply chain in line with strict tender requirement.

* Ensuring estimating procedures are followed and inputting data into the estimation software programme.

* Advise key information to the Pre-construction Manager & the Directors for tender evaluation.

* Generating a list of Sub-contractors & Suppliers for enquiries to be sent out to and carry out the whole tender process while following company procedures.

Skills & Attributes

* Ideally previous experience working as a Mechanical Estimator for an M&E/HVAC company.

* In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, and components.

* Preferably, come from a degree background in Estimating/Quantity Surveying; however, we will also consider candidates who have progressed within a company to gain their estimating experience.

* Show understanding and have the ability to apply themselves working under pressure to meet deadlines.

* Ability to work independently and unsupervised.

* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

* An eye for detail and a desire to work to a very high standard.

* Full UK Driving License.
