Mechanical Technical Support

We have a current opportunity for a Mechanical Technical Support on a contract basis. The position will be based at Hinkley Point C Somerset .

Technical Support Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to support a specialist installation contract at Hinkley Point

C. You'll act as the client's on‑site technical representative-supporting installation activities, answering technical queries, and ensuring installation methodology and documentation are followed correctly.

• Support installation teams with mechanical installation methodology
• Interpret and work from technical drawings, method statements, and technical notices

• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, assemblies, and installation
• Experience working with method statements, installation documentation, and mechanical problem solving

• To understand the installation methodology for the product and also the control of the installation conformity.
• To be able to read technical drawings and technical notices related to the equipment.
• To support the installation contractor and/ or NNB in case of technical questions.
• To support the installation contractor and/ or NNB in terms of installation methodology and in case of proposal to modify installation methodologies.
• To support the installation contractor and/ or NNB during the checks and controls of installation conformity.
• To attend the commissioning of doors upon request from NNB.
• To communicate with client team and perform technical analysis.
• To provide a weekly report of the activities performed during the week to client and the customer.

• To respect the safety rules in regard of the Hinkley Point C environment
• To know the safety rules in regards of the installation methodology for the doors
• To know CFSI rules
