Are you a driven Commercial Insurance professional with a knack for winning new business and a passion for the East Midlands market?
We are seeking a high-calibre Commercial Development Broker to join a leading brokerage in Leicester. This is a pivotal role designed for a proactive "hunter" who excels at identifying opportunities, building long-term relationships, and delivering tailored insurance solutions for mid-to-large corporate clients.
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of diverse commercial risks. You won't be restricted by a narrow niche; instead, you'll have the autonomy to build a portfolio across:
- Commercial Combined
- Public & Employers' Liability
- Motor Fleet
- Financial Lines (D&O, Professional Indemnity, Cyber)
- All Associated Commercial Classes of Insurance
Key Responsibilities
- Pipeline Generation: Proactively identify and engage with prospective commercial clients across the East Midlands.
- Risk Analysis: Conduct thorough reviews of client exposures to design bespoke insurance programs.
- Market Negotiation: Utilise your strong insurer relationships to secure competitive terms and comprehensive coverage.
- Client Presentation: Lead formal presentations and "pitch" meetings to secure new instructions.
- Collaboration: Work alongside dedicated Account Handlers to ensure a seamless transition from "prospect" to "client."

About You
- Proven Track Record: You have a demonstrable history of developing new commercial business within a brokerage environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Commercial Combined, Liability, and Fleet risks is essential.
- Local Network: A strong existing network or knowledge of the Leicestershire/East Midlands business landscape is highly advantageous.
- Professionalism: Cert CII qualified (or working towards) with excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ready to take the next step?
