This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established engineering business specialising in the build and assembly of bespoke automated machinery and production-line equipment. The role offers varied, practical work and the chance to see machines built from component level through to full assembly and testing.

The Role – Mechanical Fitter
As a Mechanical Fitter, your responsibilities will include:
 
Mechanical assembly of automated machinery, conveyors, and bespoke mechanical systems
Building equipment from engineering drawings and assembly instructions
Fitting bearings, shafts, motors, gearboxes, guards, frames, and mechanical assemblies
Working with pneumatic and mechanical components
Carrying out machine build, alignment, and basic fault-finding
Working closely with engineering, electrical, and manufacturing teams
Maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and workmanship
Day Shifts, Mon to Thur 7.30am to 4.30pm. Fri 7:30am - 12:30pm     
Minimum Skills / Experience

Required:

Minimum Skills / Experience Required – Mechanical Fitter
Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Assembler / Machine Builder
Background working on automation equipment, packaging machinery, conveyors, or special-purpose machinery
Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings
Confident using hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment
Experience working in a factory or machine-build environment
Strong attention to detail and pride in build quality
Able to work independently and as part of a team
