Pay Rate: £21.21 to £14.00 per hour depending on experience

About the RoleOur client are looking to recruit a Trainee Machine Technician to join their engineering team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideally suited to a school leaver who has completed an NVQ in Performing Manufacturing Operations or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and is looking to build a long-term career in engineering.
You will work alongside experienced Maintenance Engineers, learning how to maintain, service, and support production machinery.
Full training will be provided, but a good attitude, reliability, and a genuine interest in engineering are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with and progressively take responsibility for planned and preventative maintenance of manufacturing machinery
- Support the engineering team with breakdown response and fault-finding (primarily electrical and some mechanical)
- Carry out routine inspections to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently
- Learn to diagnose faults and help implement corrective actions
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Follow all health, safety, and quality procedures at all times
- Support continuous improvement activities within the engineering and production teams
- NVQ (or equivalent) in Performing Manufacturing Operations, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- Strong interest in engineering and manufacturing
- Willingness to learn and take instruction
- Good timekeeping and a reliable work ethic
- Basic understanding of health and safety in a manufacturing environment
