Position DetailsPosition: CNC Setter/Operator (MK1) – PM Shift
Site:
Leicester, Meridian Business Park, Leicester, LE19 1WH
Shift: PM SHIFT – Monday & Tuesday 2:30 pm to 12:30 am, Wednesday & Thursday 2:30 pm to 12:15 am. Shift premium 25% of basic pay.
Competitive hourly rate from £17.87 per hour (including 25% shift allowance), dependent upon skills in line with grading structure.
Responsibilities- Set, fault‑find & operate machines to produce fasteners to strict tolerances.
- In process deburring and self‑inspection.
- Use gauges and measuring equipment to ensure product meets required specifications.
- Self‑certification of personal work.
- Prove out downloaded programs to confirm correct timings, then upload the proven program.
- Keep all computer files and manual paperwork accurate and up‑to‑date at all times.
- Responsible for producing SPC charts and records.
- Ensure housekeeping is maintained to the highest standards.
- Ensure all quality procedures are adhered to, taking an active part in root‑cause analysis.
- Undertake training on all machines to ensure 100% flexibility in the workplace, and once fully trained to train others.
- Actively take part in locally focused or multi‑functional continuous improvement teams.
- Work as a fully flexible team member within the company to maximise levels of production and quality.
- Maximise plant and resource utilisation.
- Maintain full compliance with Howmet policies and procedures and conduct all activities in accordance with the Howmet Guide to Business Conduct.
- Adhere to all company EHS requirements and actively participate in the identification and elimination of hazards.
- Undertake and promote personal self‑development, in line with company and personal aims.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience of working within a busy manufacturing environment.
- Experience setting CNC machines – preferably DMG/Mori/CMZ/Doosan with Fanuc/Siemens controls.
- Aerospace experience would be advantageous.
- Strong communication skills.
- Communicates effectively with team members.
- Listens to others and is respectful of their opinions.
