An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced EBD Registered Manager to lead a 3-bed children's residential home in Leicester.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead a newly established 3-bed children's residential home in Leicester, supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong, values-driven leader who can deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care and achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the Ofsted Registered Manager
, ensuring full compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards - Provide strong, visible leadership to the staff team, promoting a therapeutic and nurturing environment
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times
- Develop, implement, and review care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
- Recruit, train, supervise, and appraise staff, ensuring safe staffing levels and high standards of practice
- Build effective relationships with local authorities, social workers, parents, and external professionals
- Manage incidents, safeguarding concerns, and notifications in line with regulatory requirements
- Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring the home strives for Good or Outstanding outcomes
- Oversee the operational management of the home, including rotas, budgets, occupancy, and quality assurance
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Children and Young People's Services (Residential)
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in an EBD children's home
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Children's Homes Regulations 2015
- Ofsted inspection framework
- Safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour using trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience opening or registering a new children's home
- Track record of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings
- Knowledge of Leicester / Leicestershire commissioning frameworks
