About the Role

A Top 50 law firm is expanding its Real Estate team in Leicester and is seeking a driven and enthusiastic Real Estate Development Associate with 3+ years’ PQE to join its growing practice.

This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with a highly regarded Partner within a busy, high‑performing team. The role offers strong exposure to quality clients and work, with particular focus on the retail sector and landlord and tenant matters. You will also have the opportunity to develop your client management skills, supporting the strengthening and expansion of key client relationships.

The firm’s award‑winning Real Estate group comprises over 150 lawyers across 13 UK offices. The Leicester Real Estate team currently consists of 10 lawyers and is known for its collaborative, driven, and high‑performing culture.

With a strong pipeline of high‑quality work and a clear growth strategy, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the continued development of the Leicester practice.

About You
  • At least 3 years’ post‑qualification experience in real estate law, with relevant experience aligned to the role.
  • Experience acting for clients in the retail sector and/or handling landlord and tenant matters, or a strong interest in developing this expertise.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a sound understanding of the real‑estate sector.
  • A proven track record of effective financial and matter management, meeting client expectations, and delivering high‑quality work.
  • A self‑starting, personable approach with excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing exceptional client service.
  • The ability to consistently demonstrate and embody the firm’s values.
  • Strong IT skills, with confidence using case‑management systems, electronic time recording, and Microsoft Office applications.
Benefits and Rewards
  • Discretionary bonus schemes:
  • Firm‑wide bonus of 4%–14%, dependent on overall firm performance.
  • Individual bonus based on billing, contributions to charity and social initiatives, diversity and inclusion, and wider firm contributions. This is uncapped, with many team members receiving double‑figure bonuses.
  • Holiday: 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, plus an additional day at Christmas.
