HR MANAGER Salary: up to £42,000 + good benefits

Location:

Leicester Job Type: Full time, permanent

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Administration

  • Manage day‑to‑day HR operations, ensuring smooth delivery of HR services across the business
  • Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee records
  • Oversee payroll inputs, absence management, and HR reporting
  • Ensure legal compliance with employment law and company standards

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment processes, including job briefs, advertising, screening, interviewing, and onboarding
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand talent needs and workforce planning
  • Support development of employer branding and recruitment strategies in competitive markets

Employee Relations

  • Act as first point of contact for employee HR queries, providing guidance on HR policies and best practices
  • Handle disciplinary, grievance, and performance management cases
  • Foster a positive employee experience that encourages engagement and retention
  • Coach managers on people management and employee relations issues

People Development & Culture

  • Support implementation of training, development, and performance programs
  • Contribute to HR initiatives that strengthen culture, wellbeing, and communication
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HR processes and employee engagement initiatives
Skills & Experience Required
  • 4–5 years’ experience in a generalist HR role covering operations, recruitment, and ER
  • Experience in manufacturing or retail is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes and UK employment legislation
  • Confident handling ER cases with professionalism and accuracy
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment
  • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) is an advantage
