About the role

We are looking for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist with an interest in mental health to join our friendly inpatient Occupational Therapy Team at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit, working within our acute wards. You will work closely with an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide a range of Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions. This post is open to newly qualified Occupational Therapists;

we will provide guidance and support to build your practical knowledge and skills in MOHO‑based assessments.

Main duties

Deliver high quality treatment programmes to support recovery of working‑age males detained under both criminal and civil sections of the Mental Health Act, who experience enduring mental health problems, acute mental illness, and behavioural expression of distress. Demonstrate leadership by delegating tasks to the Occupational Therapy Assistant and other team members, building and enhancing their skills and confidence.

Induction and development

Full induction to the site and service. Protected time for regular supervision from a senior Occupational Therapist, monthly peer supervision, and well‑established in‑service training. A car driver is not essential for this post.
