To provide the hospital site (Leicester Royal/Leicester General/Glenfield) with portering, housekeeping and domestic services as required ensuring patients are moved in a timely manner. This job purpose covers a 7 day week, 24 hours , including weekends and bank holidays.

• Ensuring the timely transfer of patients from the Emergency Department/Assessment Units to the base wards or discharge lounge to expedite the patient flow across the hospital site
• Help with the cleaning of patient areas in order that delays are not incurred with the transferring/admitting of patient

• To work as part of the Site Managers Team
• Cleaning of bed space area when a patient has been transferred/discharged
• Bed making
• Assisting with keeping the ward area clean

• Must be able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Trust's Values and Behaviours

• Numerate and Literate

• Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• Ability to work as a member of a team Computer Skills
• Ability to use a computer database

• Able to demonstrate a commitment and understanding of the importance of treating all individuals with dignity and respect appropriate to their individual needs.
• All staff are expected to engage in compassionate and inclusive leadership in the provision of high quality care and interactions with others

• Able to prioritise own workload

• Good Fitness as workload requires walking to and from areas within the hospital e.g Portering Skills
