Overview

To contribute to the provision of a high quality social work service to a diverse patient population, including initial assessment, risk assessment and care planning, in conjunction with other members of the multi-professional team under clinical and managerial supervision.

To be the nominated social worker for a defined patient caseload and to be the lead for their multi-professional team on safeguarding issues affecting that caseload.

Role context

To provide a social work service to identified patients at Arnold Lodge. The role includes liaison with other agencies both internally and externally as well as families, friends and carers.

Responsibilities
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to provide a high quality social care service to a designated group of patients.
  • Work in partnership with patients and their carers, as well as with external agencies.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use (reasonable adjustments available under the Equality Act 2010).
  • Diploma in Social Work or equivalent qualification and SWE registered, or in the process of registering.
  • Full-time qualified Social Worker with experience of working with people with mental health diagnosis in a health, criminal justice or social care setting.
Employer context

Arnold Lodge is a Regional Secure Unit in Humberstone, Leicester, providing care and treatment for 102 mentally disordered offenders. All patients are detained under the Mental Health Act in conditions of medium security. Arnold Lodge is part of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
