Position: Physiotherapist Band 6
Responsible to: Clinical Lead
Salary: £41,500 per year
Contract duration: 12 month FTC
- To maximise the quality of the therapeutic environment through enhancing communication, reinforcing responsibility and promoting empowerment; in order to ensure resident centred communication, service clarity and define service structure.
- The role encompasses supervisory and training, clinical leadership responsibilities and involvement in clinical audit activity, while ensuring that the team maintains and delivers high standards of therapy according to evidence-based practice and clinical guidelines.
- To provide specialised assessment and treatment interventions for residents with complex needs which promotes their independence and enriches their day to day lives.
- To provide expert advice, guidance and information to health and social care professionals, care rehab assistants, residents and relatives.
Woodrowe Healthcare is a Neuro-Rehabilitation Unit set in the heart of Leicestershire.
The role is for a Band 6 Physiotherapist who will be tasked with working across a diverse client group with a myriad of neurological conditions. Given the complexities of the client group the role presents challenges as well as a real potential for personal growth and professional development.
Job descriptionIt is Woodrowes ethos to incorporate therapy into every aspect of the individuals day; whether that be washing and dressing, to going into the community to re-learn essential social skills. In order to achieve and develop these skills the therapy team work both in the formal therapy settings and across the broader spectrum of care delivery. As such, the candidate will need to adapt their practice to suit the individuals goals and aims, along with disseminating how this is to be achieved to the wider care team.
This role requires the individual to be a self-starter and able to think of and implement innovative ways of introducing therapy to the client, as well as being able to share and endow novel ways of introducing therapy across the health care team.
- To work both autonomously and collaboratively as part of the broader team.
- Manage their case load; deliver physiotherapy rehabilitation productively within different settings, i.e., formal therapy suite, clients personal space, communal spaces, etc.
- Be able to develop SMART goals in conjunction with the client, and effectively re-assess and alter goals throughout the clients rehabilitation journey.
- Report writing and dissemination of such across the MDT and other interested stakeholders.
- Whilst having a knowledge around neuro-rehabilitation is desirable it is not essential, as having an interest and a keenness to learn is essential to the role.
