Sessional Midwife

The Role

This is a flexible, sessional role ideal for midwives who are passionate about holistic, woman-centred care and want to make a meaningful impact beyond routine clinical encounters.

• One-to-one consultations (virtual and/or in-person)
• Pregnancy education and reassurance
• Birth preparation and postnatal guidance
• Culturally sensitive support for women from diverse and migrant backgrounds
• Signposting to appropriate NHS, community, or specialist services when needed

• Fully qualified and registered with the NMC
• Currently practising (NHS midwives strongly encouraged; private midwives also welcome)
• Based in Leicester or nearby, or able to commute easily
• Confident working autonomously while aligned with a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communicators with a warm, empathetic approach
• Have a strong interest in supporting women of colour, migrant women, or families from diverse backgrounds
• Bring cultural awareness, lived experience, or a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by these communities
• Share Mama Doc’s values of equity, compassion, advocacy, and culturally safe care
• Midwives from Black and Brown backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply, as representation and lived experience are central to the care Mama Doc provides.
