** The Learning & Development Trainer (Dementia Care Mapping Specialist) plays a key role in strengthening the skills, confidence, and capability of our workforce. This role combines hands‑on training delivery with specialist Dementia Care Mapping (DCM) practice to support high‑quality, person‑centred care across our homes. You will help shape our learning culture, support new starters, and ensure our teams have the knowledge and tools they need to deliver exceptional care.*

** Responsibilities:*
* * Deliver high‑quality Learning & Development training across the organisation, including mandatory and specialist subjects.
* Conduct Dementia Care Mapping (DCM) assessments and provide feedback to improve dementia care practice.
* Lead induction programmes for new starters, ensuring a positive and informative onboarding experience.
* Deliver Manual Handling training in line with legislation, safety standards, and internal policy.
* Support the development of staff competency through coaching, mentoring, and follow‑up assessments.
* Maintain accurate training records and contribute to compliance reporting.
* Work collaboratively with Home Managers and the Quality Team to identify training needs and implement improvement plans.
* Contribute to the design and review of training materials to ensure content remains current, engaging, and aligned with best practice.
* Promote a positive learning culture that encourages professional development and reflective practice.

* Qualifications and Skills:
*
* * Dementia Care Mapping (DCM) qualification — essential.
* Training experience within health or social care — essential.
* City & Guilds training qualification — desirable but not essential.
* Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse learning styles.
* Ability to deliver both classroom and practical training confidently and professionally.
* Passion for dementia care and person‑centred practice.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage training schedules across multiple homes.
